Śrī Kṛṣṇa-līlā Stava of Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī
Adoration of Kṛṣṇa's Pastimes
Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī’s shortest and simplest work, Śrī Kṛṣṇa-līlā-stava is an ecstatic offering of praise in 432 verses punctuated by 108 obeisances. This is the author's personal meditation on Lord Kṛṣṇa’s Vṛndāvana and Mathurā pastimes as he summarizes them from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Canto 10, chapters 1-45.
In the last section of the text Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī includes prayers to Śrī Jagannātha-deva, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, “the Lord in five features,” the Deity incarnation, and to the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam itself. He ends with Dainyārti-vijñāpanam, a “Confession of the Pain of Helplessness,” describing in great humility his own deliverance by the mercy of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu.
