Satsvarupa dasa Goswami är en av de första amerikanska lärjungarna till His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, grundare-acarya av ISKCON, det Internationella sällskapet för Krishnamedvetande (mera känt under namnet Krishnarörelsen). Satsvarupa (då Steve) föddes 1939 i New York City, tog examen vid Brooklyn City College och tjänstgjorde två år i den amerikanska flottan. När han återvände till det civila fick han anställning vid New York Citys socialvårdsbyrå.
