Nara Narayana Dasa (Normand Vanasse) became a devotee of Krishna in the Montreal ISKCON temple in 1980. As a new member he was enthusiastic to share Srila Prabhupada’s books with others. He has continued with that service throughout the decades and otherwise spent much of his time on harinama – singing the holy names of Krishna in the streets.
Nara Narayana narrated his first audio book in 1988 – Srila Prabhupada’s Krsna book. It was so popular that he was asked to narrate Sri Isopanisad and Bhagavad-gita As It Is.
In 1985, encouraged by Bhakti-Tirtha Swami, who was at that time teaching Krishna consciousness in various African nations, Nara Narayana went to Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and opened the first French-speaking Krishna temple on the African continent. A musician and poet, he is now dedicated to singing songs of devotion in French. He continues to share Krishna consciousness with others in Montreal and Haiti.
