Bhakti Gauravani Swami

Born on February 12, 1951, in Dusseldorf, Germany, Christian Jansen graduated from secondary school in 1970. He then studied theology at the Theological High School in Wuppertal, until he was drafted into the military in January 1971.

In the summer of 1971, in Hamburg, he met the devotees, and one year later, on July 23, 1972, received initiation and the name Vedavyāsa Dāsa from Śrīla Prabhupāda in Paris. For the next eight years, he translated Śrīla Prabhupāda's books into German and managed the book production.

After moving to Spain in 1981, he began managing the book fund and overseeing the printing of Śrīla Prabhupāda's books produced by the Spanish BBT in Los Angeles for ISKCON Spain. In 1985, he helped establish the European offices of the Spanish BBT and set up its own production facility.

For the occasion of Śrīla Prabhupāda's centennial celebration, in 1996, Vedavyāsa Dāsa wrote and published Srila Prabhupāda and His Disciples in Germany.

In 2014, after thirty-two years of marriage, Vedavyāsa Dāsa entered the renounced order of life, receiving the name Bhakti Gauravāṇī Goswami.

At present, he is traveling and preaching in Europe, South America, and India while, at the same time, revising the German translations of Śrīla Prabhupāda's books.
