At their first meeting, in 1922, Srila Prabhupada was asked by his spiritual master, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, to broadcast Vedic knowledge in English. In the years that followed, Srila Prabhupada wrote a commentary on the Bhagavad-gita, assisted the Gaudiya Matha in its work and, in 1944, started Back to Godhead, an English fortnightly magazine.
This book is a selection of essays in the form of conversations with Srila Prabhupada, the founder of ISKCON. Srila Prabhupada gives the Vedic outlook on subjects such as reincarnation, unrestricted sex, cow slaughter and meat eating, proof of the soul’s existence, social reform, scientific progress and many more. Srila Prabhupada’s teachings and his life demonstrate that the message of the ancient Vedas is by no means outdated but is quite relevant to all people in the modern age.
